We are a femme-led production company dedicated to unique and impactful filmmaking in the Southwest

Chainlink Pictures is a New Mexico based, women-founded production company devoted to breaking down barriers and subverting the expected.

With the understanding that we are all stronger though connection, we believe that stories should come from a place of power and joy, that film can be a lens into new possibility, and that communities are most effective when we build each other up.

Who We Are

Founded by Kat Broyles and Emily Pullen, Chainlink Pictures is a full-service production company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico that specializes in developing and producing low-budget, high-quality films and scripted series that are unexpected and uniquely New Mexican. Inspired by the place that raised them, Kat and Emily returned to the land of enchantment after respective film careers in Austin and New York to build a femme-run indie film company that incubates New Mexican stories and supports New Mexican storytellers.

Kat Broyles

Kat Broyles is a southwestern filmmaker and multi-disciplinary artist currently working in New Mexico. She received her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin where she pursued multi-media art making, her artwork has been shown in several galleries including MASS and the Fieldworks Gallery. Her narrative short film “Moondogs” was notably selected for the Austin Film Festival, NOLA Film Festival, Montreal Independent Film Festival, and was nominated for several awards from the Indie Shorts Fest. Kat created “Moondogs” to bring awareness to rural Texan abortion seekers and Texas's lack of reproductive rights. She has worked as a producer, writer, and director, and as a first assistant director on numerous projects centering stories and headed by women and non-binary individuals. Inspired by growing up in Wyoming, New Mexico, and Texas, her body of work reflects on the strange interconnectedness between the landscapes of the west and human relationships through a nuanced personal and political lens. She loves creating art and walking her dog Honey in her free time.

Emily Pullen

Emily Pullen is filmmaker and producer who was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Graduating with a degree in political analysis from American University, she has worn many hats in nonfiction media that brought her to her role as a producer. After working in development at Democracy Now!, Emily spent the past four years working in the documentary sphere in New York City. She’s helped to develop documentary features and limited series for Imagine Entertainment and A24 Films, and recently worked as an associate producer on two yet-to-be-released feature films for A24. Her other associate producer credits include docuseries such as Vox’s Sex Diaries and Showtime’s Gossip. Creatively, she finds herself fascinated by the mechanics of world-building, be it in a magical realism novel or in community organizing, and she hopes to use her work as a playful reflection of the permeable future utopias that are already breathing life within our existent mythologies. Personally, she loves road trips and spending time with her loving partner and their two cats, Willie and Nelson.
